The online coaching I received from Northwoods Endurance far surpassed any online coaching I have ever received. I have been competing in endurance events (triathlons, duathlons, road races, etc) since the late 1980's, and I still learned a lot and benefitted tremendously from their support. I was pushed to work on areas I have typically neglected, such as strength training, brick workouts, sighting during swimming and even transition times. Having Northwoods plan my workouts for me helped me to avoid overtraining. Name: Kim Green Primary sport: Triathlon Began working with Northwoods Endurance: June 2010 I joined up with Northwoods Endurance in June 2010 with the goal of doing my first half ironman triathlon, the Kuparisaari in Lac LaBelle, MI in August 2010, I'd been participating in shorter triathlons for a few years and felt I really needed the extra support and training to take on a big event like a half ironman. I work full time, so the coaching really helped me to organize my time and all I had to do was the workout for the day since Rick was setting up my training plan each week. My confidence in swimming in open water really increased a lot by joining up with group swims and swimming distances I had not done before. In a triathlon, I usually can't wait to get the swim over with, but in the Kuparisaari, the swim ended up being my favorite part. My plan is to work with Northwoods Endurance again this summer and do my second Kuparisaari Half Ironman. Can you give me one good reason to not use Northwoods' coaching services? Primary sport: Triathlon Began working with Northwoods Endurance: March 2010 I just recently started doing triathlons (summer of 2010). I am diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylities, and the main reason I hired Northwoods endurance was to help me stay fit and to fight off some of the syntoms associated with AS. Since I started to work with Coach Chris and Coach Rick in spring of 2010, I have improved my endurance in swimming, biking and running. Not to mention improving my technique, which they have also helped improve greatly. They have been critical in helping me train properly while coping with my disease and adjusting my training schedule according to my condition. They have been a major reason why I attained the best physical shape of my life. I had never competed in long distance or any type of endurance sports and they have been the backbone of my exercise regimen. They spent significant time understanding my disease, they are not shy about letting me know which areas I can improve in, and they designed plans specifically tailored for me. Although at first I had the benefit of seeing them often in person for checkups and performance tests, working at a distance has also been a very good experience. I cannot say this enough, Coach Chris and Rick have spent more time that I payed them to help me improve, and they are always very attentive. |
